We unveiled our trust mark

We joined with influencers and founding members to reveal Online Responsibility Network’s new trust mark which will be given to platforms and brands who are committed to improving online trust and safety. Consumers can use the trust mark to certify a brand or platform has taken action to improve their online safety standards.

Our poll of 2,000 consumers found growing demand for greater transparency online:

  • Three quarters (76%) of adults are more likely to use websites, apps and social media platforms displaying an online safety trust mark.
  • More than eight in ten (82%) parents would prefer their children to use platforms carrying an online safety trust mark.
  • Parents of 10-17-year-olds are amongst the strongest supporters of online safety trust marks, with 85% wanting clear signs that platforms used by their children take online safety seriously.
  • "“Online responsibility is no longer simply a question of compliance. It’s become a commercial and political imperative. With business leaders increasingly recognising online safety as a potential risk to growth, organisations need to think carefully about the environments in which they show up online. Online Responsibility Day is a important opportunity to put that conversation firmly on the agenda, and to encourage action."

Simon Michaelides, Director General of ISBA
  • "Online Responsibility Day 2026 is exactly the kind of conversation our industry needs more of, online responsibility can't stop at ticking a compliance box."

    BIMA (British Interactive Media Association)
  • "Platforms can't do it alone. Neither can regulators. Businesses like ours have a job to do, and so does every person who posts, comments and scrolls."
